Globotriaosylceramide Gb3 Influences Wound Healing and Scar Formation by Orchestrating Fibroblast Heterogeneity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In superficial second‐degree burn wounds, Gb3 turns on genes related to papillary cells through the FGF2 signaling pathway. This increases the ability of cells to break down fibrin and decreases fibrosis, which ultimately prevents scar formation in burn injuries.

Treating Hearing Loss: From Cochlear Implantation to Gene Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cochlear implantation is the primary treatment for deafness, restoring functional hearing in over a million people. Recently, gene therapy has enabled biological hearing restoration in a small number of patients with OTOF‐related mutations. This perspective evaluates both approaches, concluding that cochlear implants will remain the standard for most ...

The response of microbiome assembly within different niches across four stages to the cultivation of glyphosate-tolerant and conventional soybean varieties

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
IntroductionPlants are inherently connected with the microbiome, which plays a crucial role in regulating various host plant biological processes, including immunity, nutrient acquisition, and resistance against abiotic and biotic stresses.

CSN6 Promotes Pancreatic Cancer Progression and Gemcitabine Resistance via Antagonizing DCAF1‐Mediated Ubiquitination of NPM1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
COP9 signalosome subunit 6 (CSN6) promotes the auto‐ubiquitination and degradation of DDB1‐CUL4 associated factor 1 (DCAF1), thereby antagonizing DCAF1‐mediated ubiquitination of Nucleophosmin (NPM1). This stabilization of NPM1 enhances the ribosome biogenesis process and the translation of specific gemcitabine‐resistance proteins, ultimately driving ...

Escaping endogenous miRNA post-transcriptional silencing of JrGRF4b enhanced transformation efficiency in woody plants

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
The stable expression of transgenes was critically influenced by post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in transgenic plants. In this study, we investigated the influence of endogenous miRNA-mediated silencing on heterologous gene expression by ...
