The Physiological Mechanism of Improved Formaldehyde Resistance in Petunia hybrida Harboring a Mammalian cyp2e1 Gene

open access: yesHorticultural Plant Journal, 2015
Cytochrome P450 CYP2E1 is mainly present in hepatocytes in the livers of mammals, where it plays an important role in the metabolism of xenobiotic organic substances.

Transgenic expression of antimicrobial peptide D2A21 confers resistance to diseases incited by Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci and Xanthomonas citri, but not Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Citrus Huanglongbing (HLB) associated with 'Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus' (Las) and citrus canker disease incited by Xanthomonas citri are the most devastating citrus diseases worldwide.

An accurate, reliable, and universal qPCR method to identify homozygous single insert T-DNA with the example of transgenic rice

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Early determination of transgenic plants that are homozygous for a single locus T-DNA insert is highly desirable in most fundamental and applied transgenic research. This study aimed to build on an accurate, rapid, and reliable quantitative real-time PCR

Establishment of methods for identifying rapidly and precisely transgenic rice and soybean containing herbicide-resistant gene bar and EPSPS

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2012
Genetic engineering is an important tool in plant functional genomics research and crop improvement applications. During the production of transgenic plants, the regenerated plantlets (T0) through transformation process will often mix with false-positive

Establishment of transgenic potato cultivar IPB CP1 plants containing gene encoding for superoxide dismutase to increase the abiotic stress tolerance

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2022
Potato ( Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivar IPB CP1 is suitable as a raw material for the potato chip industry. Potato plants are sensitive to various abiotic stresses such as drought, aluminium and salinity, which induce reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Heterologous expression of the AtDREB1A gene in tomato confers tolerance to chilling stress

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2019
Tomato is highly sensitive to chilling stress (0 - 12 °C) which severely affects plant growth and development. Transgenic tomato plants expressing the AtDREB1A gene under the control of the rd29A promoter were evaluated for its tolerance to chilling ...

Improvement of pest resistance in transgenic tobacco plants expressing dsRNA of an insect-associated gene EcR. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The adoption of pest-resistant transgenic plants to reduce yield loss and pesticide utilization has been successful in the past three decades. Recently, transgenic plant expressing double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) targeting pest genes emerges as a promising ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
