Large-Scale Investigation of Soybean Gene Functions by Overexpressing a Full-Length Soybean cDNA Library in Arabidopsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Molecular breeding has become an important approach for crop improvement, and a prerequisite for molecular breeding is elucidation of the functions of genetic loci or genes. Soybean is one of the most important food and oil crops worldwide.

A Novel CsYABBY3‐CsAS1 Feedback Loop Coordinates Trichome Differentiation and Cannabinoid Biosynthesis in Cannabis sativa L.

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel transcriptional module involving CsYABBY3 and CsAS1 is identified to regulate cannabinoid biosynthesis and trichome development. These factors mutually activate each other and form a protein complex via a conserved residue, acting synergistically to amplify metabolic flux through a coordinate feed‐forward mechanism.

Insights into the effects of transgenic glyphosate-resistant semiwild soybean on soil microbial diversity

open access: yesScientific Reports
Transgenic soybean [Glycine max(L.) Merrill] currently covers approximately 80% of the global crop area for this species, with the majority of transgenic plants being glyphosate resistant (Roundup Ready, GR or RR).

Overexpression of the aldehyde dehydrogenase AhALDH3H1 from Arachis hypogaea in soybean increases saline-alkali stress tolerance

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Soybean production is severely hampered by saline-alkaline stress caused by saline-alkalization. Plants have aldehydrogenase (ALDH) family members that convert reactive aldehydes to carboxylic acids to remove active aldehyde molecules. However, little is

A New Vista of Opportunity in Diabetes Management: Natural Product‐Based β‐cell Preservation

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Preserving functional β‐cells via natural products offers promising strategy for diabetes treatment. ABSTRACT A defining characteristic of diabetes is β‐cell failure, in which β‐cells cannot modulate insulin secretion to compensate for escalating insulin resistance, pushing forward disease development.

Immunomodulatory Effect of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) Scale Gelatin Peptides in RAW264.7 Macrophages and Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Currently, small‐molecular‐weight collagen peptides are a research hotspot in functional factor development due to their high bioavailability and diverse bioactivities. In this study, gelatin was extracted from tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) scales by hot water extraction, followed by pepsin hydrolysis and ultrafiltration to obtain the < 3 ...

Overexpression of soybean GmNAC19 and GmGRAB1 enhances root growth and water-deficit stress tolerance in soybean

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Soybean (Glycine max) is an important crop in agricultural production where water shortage limits yields in soybean. Root system plays important roles in water-limited environments, but the underlying mechanisms are largely unknown. In our previous study,
