Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Hoop strain-Based Approach to Detecting Leak Phenomena
Detecting leakage in aging underground pipeline remains challenging due to limited accessibility and complex hydraulic conditions. This study explores a transient damping-based method for leakage detection using both internal water pressure and external

Oscillatory transient regime in the forced dynamics of a spin torque nano-oscillator
We demonstrate that the transient non-autonomous dynamics of a spin torque nano-oscillator (STNO) under a radio-frequency (rf) driving signal is qualitatively different from the dynamics described by the Adler model.

Transient beam loading in the SLC damping rings [PDF]
Effects arising from heavy beam loading in the Stanford Linear Collider (SLC) damping rings are described. The stability of the RF system and particle beam is studied using a numerical model of the beam cavity interaction with multiple feedback loops. Nonlinearities of the power source are also considered.

This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Adaptive Feedforward Cancellation (AFC) is commonly used to counteract periodic disturbances in mechatronic systems in order to enhance the control performance. So far, AFC algorithms either use no or positive damping.

A nanoflare model of quiet Sun EUV emission [PDF]
Nanoflares have been proposed as the main source of heating of the solar corona. However, detecting them directly has so far proved elusive, and extrapolating to them from the properties of larger brightenings gives unreliable estimates of the power-law ...
