Transient polarization dynamics in a CO$_2$ laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We study experimentally and theoretically the polarization alternation during the switch-on transient of a quasi-isotropic CO$_2$ laser emitting on the fundamental mode.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Simulation study on impact characteristics of RF microsystem based on bulk silicon MEMS process

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong
The high overload impact test is costly and time consuming, and the failure detection means are few, so it is difficult to locate the weak points of the structure. In this paper the impact response spectrum and transient dynamics method are used to study

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Transient Dynamics of Stimulated Raman Scattering in Gas-Filled Hollow-Core Photonic Crystal Fibers

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
A theoretical and numerical investigation of transient dynamics of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) inside gas-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fibers (HCPCFs) is reported here.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

PIDGeuN: Graph Neural Network-Enabled Transient Dynamics Prediction of Networked Microgrids Through Full-Field Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Access
A Physics-Informed Dynamic Graph Neural Network (PIDGeuN) is presented to accurately, efficiently and robustly predict the nonlinear transient dynamics of microgrids in the presence of disturbances.

What drives transient behaviour in complex systems?

open access: yes, 2017
We study transient behaviour in the dynamics of complex systems described by a set of non-linear ODE's. Destabilizing nature of transient trajectories is discussed and its connection with the eigenvalue-based linearization procedure.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
