Evaluation of Liver Fibrosis through Noninvasive Tests in Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Gastroenterology
Liver fibrosis, a critical predictor of the prognosis of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), is traditionally diagnosed via biopsy.

What is to be done when transient elastography is not feasible? [PDF]

open access: yesResearch and Clinical Medicine, 2016
OBJECTIVES AND BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to find an alternative to Transient Elastography when its’ application is impossible or when no valid and reliable measurements can be obtained through its usage.

Surgically confirmed severe endometriosis is associated with lower risk of steatotic liver disease: Evidence of estrogen‐linked hepatic–reproductive crosstalk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Severe surgically confirmed endometriosis was associated with a lower prevalence of steatotic liver disease than non‐severe disease. Higher estradiol levels may partly explain this inverse hepatic–reproductive association, supporting integrated gynecologic and hepatologic risk assessment.

Role of transient elastography in pediatric patients with portal hypertension: A cross-sectional, single-center study

open access: yesJournal of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences
Introduction: Portal hypertension in children is associated with the emergence of myriad complications. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, though, has the upper hand in diagnosing portal hypertension and varices over the Doppler study, yet it is an invasive ...

Soluble B7‐H6 as a Novel Diagnostic Biomarker for Post‐Hepatitis B Cirrhosis: A Clinical Value Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
This study investigates the potential of soluble B7‐H6 (sB7‐H6) as a novel diagnostic biomarker for post‐hepatitis B cirrhosis. The infographic visually presents the following key points: (1) Liver Disease Progression: Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) progresses to liver cirrhosis (LC), with serum sB7‐H6 levels increasing stepwise as the disease advances. (2)

Diagnostic Accuracy of Shear Wave Elastography for the Assessment of Congestive Liver Disease in Patients With Structural Heart Disease

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Shear wave elastography demonstrated moderate diagnostic accuracy for detecting congestive liver disease in patients with structural heart disease. Increased liver stiffness was associated with echocardiographic markers of venous congestion, supporting the concept that elastography may serve as a noninvasive marker of cardiohepatic interaction ...

Success of transition to adult care in patients with pediatric‐onset chronic liver disease

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Previous studies on chronic pediatric‐onset conditions have highlighted the risks of loss to follow‐up, disease progression, or therapeutic nonadherence during transition. However, very few studies have focused on liver diseases.
