Review of Catenary Icing on High‐Speed Railways: Characteristics, Impact and Countermeasures
ABSTRACT The pantograph–catenary system (PCS) is the only path for electrified railway trains to acquire energy. Catenary icing during winter is a common natural phenomenon, which usually leads to the deterioration of the current quality and severely affects the operational safety of trains.

ABSTRACT The double‐break vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) that utilize series break technology effectively increase the switching capability for capacitive currents, elevate the withstand voltage level, and reduce the likelihood of restrike, all without compromising the breaking capacity for short‐circuit currents.

ABSTRACT To effectively suppress transient overvoltages in HVDC systems, the design and experimental validation of a multi‐module series controllable arrester are presented. The voltage‐limiting performance, series voltage equalisation capability, and robustness under fault conditions in high‐voltage scenarios require further research.

Safety hysteresis comparator design for transient overvoltage detection
This research introduces a safety hysteresis comparator that detects transient overvoltage in the track circuit relay interlocking of railway signaling system. This overvoltage is caused by voltage faults transmitted through the electric conductor on the

This study probes why polymer electrolyte membrane electrolyzers lose efficiency under different operating profiles. Using electrical tests, microscopy, and spectroscopy, Ti‐PTL passivation is established as the dominant cause for increased Ohmic resistance in samples aged under constant and triangular current profiles for 88 h.

Thermal impedance spectroscopy is used to obtain the thermal parameters of a battery cell. Here, by utilising the cell temperature, the influence of thermal gradients on the resulting measurement is minimised, avoiding negative real values at all frequency points. The paper, therefore, compares multiple cell states and formats to gain insights into the

Due to complex wind farm conditions, a coordinated control system was designed. It manages DC power surges during AC faults by temporarily storing excess energy and regulating voltages. This strategy optimizes unbalanced power and enables effective fault recovery, resulting in minimal voltage fluctuations and superior performance.

Analysis of transient overvoltage in medium voltage distribution: article / Shahrifawaty Abdul Aziz [PDF]
This paper presents the analysis of transient overvoltage in medium voltage distribution. Transient overvoltage is one of the common power quality disturbances in electrical distribution result from the unavoidable effects of lightning strikes.
