Study on the Transient Response of Lower Limb Rehabilitation Actuator Using the Pneumatic Cylinder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A lower limb rehabilitation device was designed using the compressed air cylinder in order to answer the particular request in Vietnam. This paper is presenting the results of a study of the device response. Dynamic equation of the actuator and equations

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Study of photocapacitor transient response of MAPbI3 perovskite-based solar cell devices

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
Perovskite material ( MAPbI3 ) solar cells were used because of their capability to respond to light. The transient response characteristics of MAPbI3 perovskite-based solar cell devices with and without SnO2 layer were investigated in this paper.

A parallel structure transient response algorithm using independent substructure response computation [PDF]

open access: yes
An algorithm for parallel computation of transient response for structures is presented in which responses of substructures are computed independently for dozens of time steps at a time, and these substructure responses are then corrected to obtain the ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Fuzzy Logic-Based Adaptive Droop Control Designed with Feasible Range of Droop Coefficients for Enhanced Power Delivery in Microgrids

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
Power electronic converter-based microgrids generally suffer from poor power delivery/handling capability during sudden load changes, especially during islanded operations. This is due to the lack of transient energy support to compensate for sudden load

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of Rigid-Flexible Coupled Unfolding Mechanisms Under Transient Actuation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Transient mechanisms are increasingly applied in fields such as high-speed aircraft, super high-speed trains, and underwater robots. However, in high-speed motion, large inertial forces are inevitably generated, which can easily lead to elastic ...
