High Frequency Response of Volatile Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
In this theoretical study, the high‐frequency response of the electrothermal NbO2‐Mott threshold switch is focused, a real‐world electronic device, which has been proved to be relevant in several applications and is classified as a volatile memristor ...

Experimental and Theoretical Modeling of the Thermal Response of Heat Exchangers to Stochastic Flow Rate Fluctuations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
This study investigates the transient thermal response of a double-pipe heat exchanger subjected to stochastic flow rate fluctuations through a combined experimental and numerical approach. A two-parameter model, defined by the time constant (τ) and time

Comparison of passive and active methods for improving transient performance of turbocharged engine systems

open access: yes, 2006
The drive to reduce engine emissions has placed an emphasis upon turbocharging especially with the trend of engine downsizing (C. Macrae, (2006), A. Lefebvre et al. (2005)). Turbocharged vehicles exhibit a weak point of poor drivability under transient

Comparing transient, accelerated, and equilibrium simulations of the last 30 000 years with the GENIE-1 model

open access: yes, 2006
We examine several aspects of the ocean-atmosphere system over the last 30000 years, by carrying out simulations with prescribed ice sheets, atmospheric CO2 concentration, and orbital parameters.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

The magnitudes and timescales of global mean surface temperature feedbacks in climate models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Because of the fundamental role feedbacks play in determining the response of surface temperature to perturbations in radiative forcing, it is important we understand the dynamic characteristics of these feedbacks.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
