Thermal quadrupole method with internal heat sources [PDF]
A new method based on the thermal quadrupoles technique for heat transfer modelling in multilayered slabs with heat sources is proposed. Classical thermal quadrupoles use hyperbolic functions and numerical problems occur according to the argument value ...

FAST Observations of FRB 20220912A: Burst Properties and Polarization Characteristics
We report the observations of FRB 20220912A using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope. We conducted 17 observations totaling 8.67 hr and detected a total of 1076 bursts with an event rate up to 390 hr ^−1 .

Novae as a Class of Transient X‐Ray Sources [PDF]
Motivated by the recently discovered class of faint (10^34-10^35 ergs/s) X-ray transients in the Galactic Center region, we investigate the 2-10 keV properties of classical and recurrent novae. Existing data are consistent with the idea that all classical novae are transient X-ray sources with durations of months to years and peak luminosities in the ...

AN ARECIBO SEARCH FOR PULSARS AND TRANSIENT SOURCES IN M33 [PDF]
We report on a systematic and sensitive search for pulsars and transient sources in the nearby spiral galaxy M33, conducted at 1.4 GHz with the Arecibo telescope's seven-beam receiver system, ALFA. Data were searched for both periodic and aperiodic sources, up to 1000 pc cm^{-3} in dispersion measure and on timescales from $\sim$50 \us to several ...

MOSFiT: Modular Open Source Fitter for Transients [PDF]
AbstractMuch of the progress made in time-domain astronomy is accomplished by relating observational multiwavelength time-series data to models derived from our understanding of physical laws. This goal is typically accomplished by dividing the task in two: collecting data (observing), and constructing models to represent that data (theorizing).

Gamma-Ray Polarimetry of Transient Sources with POLAR
Polarization measurements of the gamma-ray component of transient sources are of great scientific interest, they are however, also highly challenging. This is due to the typical low signal to noise and the potential for significant systematic errors. Both issues are made worse by the transient nature of the events which prompt one to observe a large ...

Calculation and Uncertainty of Fast Radio Burst Structure Based on Smoothed Data
Studies of the time-domain structure of fast radio bursts (FRBs) require an accurate estimate of the FRB dispersion measure in order to recover the intrinsic burst shape.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.
