Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The Radio Flare and Multiwavelength Afterglow of the Short GRB 231117A: Energy Injection from a Violent Shell Collision

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the early radio detection and multiwavelength modeling of the short gamma-ray burst (GRB) 231117A at redshift z = 0.257. The Australia Telescope Compact Array automatically triggered a 9 hr observation of GRB 231117A at 5.5 and 9 GHz following

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Continued Radio Observations of the Persistent Radio Source Associated with FRB 20190520B Provide Insights into Its Origin

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Follow-up studies of persistent emission from fast radio burst (FRB) sources are critical for understanding their elusive emission mechanisms and the nature of their progenitors.

Identification of pollution sources in transient groundwater systems

open access: yes, 2000
A methodology using a nonlinear optimization model is presented for estimating unknown magnitude, location and duration of groundwater pollution sources under transient flow and transport conditions.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Optical Appearance of Eccentric Tidal Disruption Events

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Stars approaching supermassive black holes can be tidally disrupted. Despite being expected to emit X-rays, tidal disruption events (TDEs) have been largely observed in optical bands, which is poorly understood.

TRANSIENT SCATTERING PROBLEMS SOLUTION BY SURFACE EQUIVALENT SOURCES

open access: yes, 1994
A numerical study is developed to evaluate the response of a system excited by a transient incident field. A new formulation is introduced in order to apply surface impedance boundary conditions (SIBC) while adopting the scattering formulation.

Variable and transient galactic gamma-ray sources with AGILE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
AGILE has been providing continous monitoring of the Galactic plane in its three years of operation. Thanks to its sensitivity at energies near 100 MeV, AGILE has observed variability and transient behaviour in a number of sources.
