Ultrasound Visualization and Recording of Transient Myocardial Vibrations
Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 2023A new visualization and recording method used to assess and quantitate autogenic high-velocity motions in myocardial walls to provide a new description of cardiac function is described. The regional motion display (RMD) is based on high-speed difference ultrasound B-mode images and spatiotemporal processing to record propagating events (PEs).

Solution Bounds for Transient Vibration Problems
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1977The theory of differential inequalities is applied to systems of nonlinear differential equations of the initial value type. Established bounding theorems are used to construct bounds on the solution of these equations and to develop an iterative procedure for improving these bounds.

Transient Vibrations Caused by Heel Strike
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part H: Journal of Engineering in Medicine, 1989Transient vibrations caused by heel strike and travelling vertically through the body have been monitored using accelerometers taped to the skin. A correction for skin movement based on the transmissibility function is described. The average velocity between the foot and the head for the heel-strike transient is 220 m/s.

Transient vibrational grating scattering
Chemical Physics Letters, 1983Abstract A new method for measuring vibrational lifetimes in the solid state is demonstrated in a dilute mixed molecular crystal. Using a picosecond light pulse at ω 1 and simultaneous crossed pulses at ω 2 , a vibrational population grating at ω 1 – ω 2 is prepared.

Linear analysis of transient vibration
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1969Abstract An elementary explanation is given of Duhamel's integral and Fourier and Laplace transform techniques in linear vibration analysis. In this, three types of receptances are described, the relationships between them are explained and their application illustrated by means of simple examples.

The Analysis of Transient Vibration Data
The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1956A new proof is given of a method whereby records of the transient vibrations of linear systems can be analysed to give the damping factor and frequency of each mode of vibration associated with the motion. The method is applicable to acceleration, velocity or displacement records, and as the amplitude of each mode can be found, by using a suitable ...

Transient studies of vibration-cavity polaritons
Physical Chemistry of Semiconductor Materials and Interfaces XX, 2021Vibration-cavity polaritons, which are produced by strong coupling between an optical cavity and a molecular vibration, can modify chemical reaction rates and branching ratios. However the observed effects are poorly understood. To gain insight into how these polaritons might alter molecular processes, we used ultrafast pump-probe and two-dimensional ...

Markov Approximation to Transient Vibration
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1983The response of a lightly damped single‐degree‐of‐freedom oscillator to a random excitation with an evolutionary broad‐band power spectrum is considered. Analytical solutions are given for the transition, joint, and marginal probability densities of a Markovian approximation of the response amplitude.
