The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

An Arterial-Based Transit Signal Priority Control System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
To contend with the negative impacts of intersection-based transit system priority (TSP) control on side-street traffic, and also to enhance its effectiveness from the perspective of the whole traffic flow on the arterial, this study presents an ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Methodology for Developing Transit Bus Speed-Acceleration Matrices for Load-Based Mobile Source Emissions Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An emissions model for transit bus based on road load estimates emissions as a function of transit bus power demand for given transit bus activities and environmental conditions.

APPROXIMATION OF THE TRANSITION FUNCTION

open access: yesScience and Transport Progress, 2005
Approximation of transitive function by means of solution of second order differential equation has been examined and estimation of the error of transfer function has been determined.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Transit access effectiveness in American metropolitan areas [PDF]

open access: yes
This research examines transit effectiveness empirically through the lens of access to employment. The approach uses the gradual shift of mobility to access to introduce the Transit-Walk Access Gap (TWAG) as an effectiveness indicator.

DEVELOPMENT OF SHORT-TERM OPERATIONAL PLANNING MODEL FOR TRANSIT SERVICE ANALYSIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The subject is an integrated model of transit demand and supply that accounts for the interrelationships between ridership and service. The model consists of a set of equations in which ridership is predicted as a function of service and then service is
