Filling-control metal-insulator transition on the two-dimensional Hubbard model is investigated by using the correlator projection method, which takes into account momentum dependence of the free energy beyond the dynamical mean-field theory.

Synthesis and inclusion behavior of a heterotritopic receptor based on hexahomotrioxacalix[3]arene [PDF]
A heterotritopic hexahomotrioxacalix[3]arene receptor with the capability of binding two alkali metals and a transition metal in a cooperative fashion was synthesized.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

The charge percolation mechanism and simulation of Ziegler-Natta polymerizations. Part III. Oxidation states of transition metals [PDF]
The oxidation state of the transition metal (Mt) active centre is the most disputable question in the polymerization of olefins by Ziegler-Natta (ZN) and metallocene complexes.

The Mott Metal-Insulator transition in the half-filled Hubbard model on the Triangular Lattice
We investigate the metal-insulator transition in the half-filled Hubbard model on a two-dimensional triangular lattice using both the Kotliar-Ruckenstein slave-boson technique, and exact numerical diagonalization of finite clusters.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

The distribution of chemically similar transition-metal ions is a fundamental issue in the study of herbertsmithite-type kagome antiferromagnets. Using synchrotron radiation, we have performed resonant powder x-ray diffractions on newly synthesized CoCu3(

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

On Metal-Insulator Transitions due to Self-Doping
We investigate the influence of an unoccupied band on the transport properties of a strongly correlated electron system. For that purpose, additional orbitals are coupled to a Hubbard model via hybridization.
