Transition metal-like carbocatalyst [PDF]
AbstractCatalytic cleavage of strong bonds including hydrogen-hydrogen, carbon-oxygen, and carbon-hydrogen bonds is a highly desired yet challenging fundamental transformation for the production of chemicals and fuels. Transition metal-containing catalysts are employed, although accompanied with poor selectivity in hydrotreatment.

METAL-INSULATOR TRANSITIONS IN TRANSITION METAL OXIDES
There is a transition from band insulator to metal to Mott insulator with increasing number of d electrons in the transition metal oxides. In the (V1-xCrx)2O3 system a Mott transition occurs near x = 0.01. At high temperatures V2O3 and (V.99Cr.01)2 O3 are found to have similar resistivities and temperature coefficients of resistivity.

Additive manufacturing of bimetallic structures
Metals of 12Cr2Si and 9Cr1Mo are investigated with femtosecond fiber laser additive manufacturing. A smooth phase transition is found at the interface of the two gradated composition metals, indicating a strong bonding.

A P-type ATPase importer that discriminates between essential and toxic transition metals [PDF]
Transition metals, although being essential cofactors in many physiological processes, are toxic at elevated concentrations. Among the membrane-embedded transport proteins that maintain appropriate intracellular levels of transition metals are ATP-driven
