Transition function for the Toda chain model
The method of Lambda-operators developed by S. Derkachov, G. Korchemsky, A. Manashov is applied to a derivation of eigenfunctions for the open Toda chain.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Chiral transition in a strongly coupled fermion-gauge-scalar model
We report the recent results from the computer simulations of a fermion-gauge-scalar model with dynamical chiral-symmetry breaking and chiral transition induced by the scalar field. This model might be considered to be a possible alternative to the Higgs

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Characterization of topological phase transitions via topological properties of transition points
We study topological properties of phase transition points of topological quantum phase transitions by assigning a topological invariant defined on a closed circle or surface surrounding the phase transition point in the parameter space of momentum and ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

The depinning transition in presence of disorder: a toy model
We introduce a toy model, which represents a simplified version of the problem of the depinning transition in the limit of strong disorder. This toy model can be formulated as a simple renormalization transformation for the probability distribution of a ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Continuous melting of compact polymers
The competition between chain entropy and bending rigidity in compact polymers can be addressed within a lattice model introduced by P.J. Flory in 1956.
