Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A minimal model of dynamical phase transition

open access: yes, 2016
We calculate the large deviation functions characterizing the long-time fluctuations of the occupation of drifted Brownian motion and show that these functions have non-analytic points.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Thermal phase transition in Yang-Mills matrix model

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study the bosonic matrix model obtained as the high-temperature limit of two-dimensional maximally supersymmetric SU(N) Yang-Mills theory. So far, no consensus about the order of the deconfinement transition in this theory has been reached and this ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Transition and Verification Method from RSML-e to Lustre Model for Flight Mode Transition [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji kexue
The automatic flight system is the core system of flight control for modern large aircraft. The flight guidance system,as the core subsystem of the automatic flight system, manages and controls the mode transition of the automatic flight system. The ...

Phase transition in a supersymmetric axion model

open access: yes, 2007
In a supersymmetric axion model where the scale for both supersymmetry breaking and Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking is around $10^{11}$ GeV, we find that there is a reasonable parameter space for a strongly first order phase transition at the scale ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Quantum Phase Transition in Heisenberg-Kitaev Model

open access: yes, 2013
We explore the nature of the quantum phase transition between a magnetically ordered state with collinear spin pattern and a gapless $Z_2$ spin liquid in the Heisenberg-Kitaev model.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
