Machine Learning Predictions of Transition Probabilities in Atomic Spectra
Forward modeling of optical spectra with absolute radiometric intensities requires knowledge of the individual transition probabilities for every transition in the spectrum.

Synaptic encoding of temporal contiguity
Often we need to perform tasks in an environment that changes stochastically. In these situations it is important to learn the statistics of sequences of events in order to predict the future and the outcome of our actions. The statistical description of

Background When patient health state transition evidence is missing from clinical literature, analysts are inclined to make simple assumptions to complete the transition matrices within a health economic model.

We report new measurements of branching fractions for 20 UV and blue lines in the spectrum of neutral silicon (Si i ) originating in the 3 s ^2 3 p 4 s ^3 P ^o _1,2 , ^1 P ^o _1 , and 3 s 3 p ^3 ^1 D ^o _1,2 upper levels. Transitions studied include both

A stochastic assessment of monthly rainfall pattern: a case of Owerri, Nigeria
This study addresses a critical gap in agro-meteorological planning: the absence of reliable probabilistic models for predicting monthly rainfall regimes. Specifically, we aim to quantify the long-term distribution of dry, wet, and rainy months in Owerri,

High-Energy Neutrino Flavor State Transition Probabilities
We analytically determine neutrino transitional probabilities and abundance ratios at various distances from the source of creation in several astrophysical contexts, including the Sun, supernovae and cosmic rays.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Adaptive estimation of HMM transition probabilities
This paper presents new schemes for recursive estimation of the state transition probabilities for hidden Markov models (HMM's) via extended least squares (ELS) and recursive state prediction error (RSPE) methods.

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This
