Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Meaning does not have to be rendered in words: Intersemiotic translation in digital religious infographics

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics
Data visualization is becoming widespread nowadays as people grasp images faster than verbal information. Infographics delineate information visually to be easily intelligible to the audience. They are creative discursive spaces where complex information

Challenges of translating C. S. Lewis’s “The Problem of Pain” into Polish and Spanish by professional translators – comparative and evaluative perspectives [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Translatorica
The article discusses diverse translation challenges which translators may be confronted with while working on target-language renditions of C. S. Lewis’s “The Problem of Pain”. To present his thoughts and theses, this famous British writer, philosopher,

A translation plane of order 112

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1983
AbstractA translation plane of order 112 is constructed. Its translation complement is a solvable group of order 1200 and has 9 orbits on the line at infinity. These orbits have lengths 30, 20, 20, 12, 10, 10, 10, 5, 5, respectively.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

The transposition of locally compact, connected translation planes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This note deals with the transposition of translation planes in the topological context. We show that a topological congruence C of the real vector space R 2n has the property that every hyperplane of R 2n contains a component of C.

Stable elastic nail application with poller K-wire for Irreducible distal radius metaphyseal-diaphyseal Junction fractures in preadolescents: a new operative technique

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders
Background Surgical treatment of irreducible distal radius diaphyseal- metaphyseal junction fractures involves difficulties as the fracture remains too proximal for K-wire fixation and too distal for the elastic stable intramedullary nail. Our study aims
