Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

The question of translation and translation studies

open access: yesJournal of Modern Languages, 2017
Over the centuries, translation as a phenomenon has been addressed in several fields of study: literary studies, cultural studies, linguistics, etc. In the last quarter of the 20th. century, scholars' continuous attempt and perseverance to establish a discipline gained momentum in the 19705, in which the designation translation studies was suggested ...

Positionalities of Translation Studies

open access: yes
This volume explores historical, cultural, linguistic, and anthropocentric influences on Translation Studies (TS). It brings together nuanced, individual, self-reflexive case studies and juxtaposes them in order to provoke discussion on the role of contemporary researchers in the discipline of TS.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Why The Art of War thrives in Brazil: cultural capital and field dynamics in a Bourdieusian perspective

open access: yesHumanities & Social Sciences Communications
The Art of War, attributed to Sun Tzu, is a seminal work in classical Chinese military strategy. This article examines the Portuguese-language dissemination and reception of The Art of War, examining why it thrives in Brazil. Grounded in Bourdieu’s field

The Role of Analogy in Forming and Translating Language Game

open access: yesВісник Харківського національного університету імені В. Н. Каразіна. Серія Іноземна філологія. Методика викладання іноземних мов
The present paper is devoted to highlighting the role of analogy in the forming and translating language game. The relevance of the study is due to the important role of analogy in the formation of lexicalised forms of language game and the choice of the

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Translation Quality of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Translation Vs. Human Translation Utilizing MTPE Skills (An Empirical Study on Allusion Translation)

open access: yesمجلة الدراسات الاجتماعية
Allusion is one of the culture-bound expressions that need careful consideration while translating. Machine translation (MT) and human translators (HTs) encounter difficulties in dealing with them.
