Passive Color Imaging Through Macroscopic Strong Scattering Media

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light reflected from distant targets is severely attenuated and scattered by dense fog. A color‐channel‐simulated, independently exposed sCMOS array (CISA), combined with a passive colorful de‐scattering pipeline (PCDP), captures and reconstructs extremely weak target signals.

Solvent‐Free Synthesis of Ultrabright Carbon Dots With Near‐Unity Quantum Yield for High‐Performance Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rational, solvent‐free synthesis utilizing 2,6‐diaminonaphthalene produces ultrabright green‐emissive carbon dots. Regulated by a self‐limiting oxidative capping mechanism, excitons undergo ultrafast intra‐particle funneling from the nitrogen‐doped carbon core to emissive surface traps.

Wood Carbon Sponge/SiO2 Aerogel Composites with Anisotropic Broadband Microwave Absorption, Elastic Resilience, and Thermal Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anisotropic wood carbon sponge/SiO2 aerogel composites are constructed, revealing a robust direction‐dependent permittivity ordering (tangential > radial > axial). The radial direction delivers an ultra‐broadband effective absorption bandwidth of 11.6 GHz at only 4.95 mm, while the tangential direction offers superior compressibility and thermal ...

Explicit Formulas for the Reflection and Transmission Coefficients of One-Component Waves Through a Stack of an Arbitrary Number of Layers

open access: yesWave Motion, 2015
The transmission and reflection of one-component elastic, acoustic, optical waves on a stack of arbitrary number of different homogeneous layers have been intensively studied in the literature.

Reflection and Transmission Coefficients for Transition Layers

Studia Geophysica Et Geodaetica, 1974
Formulae are derived for the reflection and transmission coeficients of plane elastic waves for a transition layer. Haskell's technique and the so-called delta matrices[5, 7] are used for this purpose. No problems are encountered in deriving the reflections and transmission coefficients from Haskell's matrices[3].

Modified Transmission and Reflection Coefficients of Nonuniform Transmission Lines and Their Applications

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1998
By employing the ABCD transmission matrix of a transmission line, we formulate the reflection and transmission coefficients of a nonuniform line as polynomial ratios in Z-transforms. Such formulations reveal explicit relationships between transmission and reflection coefficients of a nonuniform line.

Reflection and Transmission Coefficients for a Diffused Interface

Applied Optics, 1968
The reflection and transmission coefficients for an inhomogeneous layer separating two semiinfinite homogeneous media are examined. Two different cases are investigated, each with a different permittivity profile for the inhomogeneous layer. Detailed examination of these coefficients reveals the relation of their magnitude and phase to the wavelength ...

Introduction of Reflection and Transmission Coefficients for Nonuniform Radiating Transmission Lines

IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2015
In the framework of a high-frequency transmission-line theory for nonuniform lines (TLST), new reflection and transmission coefficients are derived using generalized definitions of equivalent quantities from the classical transmission-line theory. This leads to local and frequency-dependent reflection and transmission coefficients expressed in terms of

Reflection and Transmission Coefficients of a Periodic Dielectric Slab

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1978
The plane-wave reflection and transmission coefficients of a dielectric slab having a sinusoidal variation of its permittivity are deduced from the solution of the full electromagnetic boundary-value problem and compared with the results of the approximate procedure based on the coupled-mode equations for the slowly varying amplitudes.
