NG-PON2 Transmission Convergence Layer: A Tutorial
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2015The first family of multi-wavelength PON systems, 40-gigabit-capable capable passive optical networks (NG-PON2), has been specified by the Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-T). This tutorial, which is based on the author's ECOC'2015 presentation on the topic, offers a comprehensive review of the

Transmission convergence layer in XG-PON
2015 38th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2015The article deals with the Transmission Convergence Layer in 10 Gigabit passive optical networks. There is a description of conditions, under which the Optical Network Units (ONU) pass through, when is activated. Additionally, this article focuses on the processes of connecting ONUs to the Passive Optical Networks (PONs).

Transmission convergence layer framing in XG-PON1
2009 IEEE Sarnoff Symposium, 2009In this paper, a mechanism of the transmission convergence (TC) layer framing in XG-PON1 is proposed. It enhances the existing G-PON TC (GTC) protocol system by employing the concept of word alignment. The major benefits include simplified design, extended support to more users, and easy implementation.

Implementation of NG-PON2 transmission convergence layer into OPNET modeler
2017 International Workshop on Fiber Optics in Access Network (FOAN), 2017Passive optical networks are the most promising solution for access networks. Nowadays, Gigabit passive optical networks are very popular for Internet services providers. These networks have currently been limited by transmission speeds (up to 2.5 Gbit/s in downstream) which is not sufficient for all services (such as 4k video transfer etc.) because ...

Transmission of Sound in Ducts with Thin Shear Layers—Convergence to the Uniform Flow Case
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972The problem of the transmission of sound in a duct with very thin shear layers at the walls is treated by an inner expansion method. The results show that the formulation of the problem of the transmission of sound in a duct with a shear layer at the wall converges, in the case of a vanishingly thin shear layer, to the formulation of the same problem ...

Bandwidth Resource Sharing on the XG-PON Transmission Convergence Layer in a Multi-operator Scenario
Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, 2016Passive optical networks (PONs) offer high network capacity and densified coverage at the cost of high capital expenditure. Therefore, it is desirable for network operators who deploy their own infrastructures to share their PON infrastructures to reduce the initial investment.

Four InxGa1−xAs/GaAs strained-layer superlattices grown by molecular beam epitaxy have been studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED). Cross-section TEM images show that the interfaces are sharp and the superlattice layers are uniform.

An internet-working unit called UNICORN is used to interconnect LANs such as Ethernet and MANs such as DQDB over a SDH-based ATM network carrying data at 155Mb/s. Two monolithic B-ISDN ICs perform the critical ATM functions: the TCS chip and the ATM-AAL chip.
