Creativity: relation to neural transmission errors
Kybernetes, 2011PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to compare creativity and psychometric IQ and to explain why creativity is often related to mental disturbances.Design/methodology/approachThe approach taken is that of theoretical analysis.FindingsPsychometric IQ is found to be related to low probability of neural transmission errors.

Games with random errors of information transmission
Automation and Remote Control, 2015Consideration was given to the hierarchical two-person games with a fixed order of moves. It was assumed that there were some random errors of information transmission. Examined was a model where both players were guided by the corresponding expectations for their gains.

Transmission Error Calculation Based on Manufacturing Errors and Load
Advanced Materials Research, 2014A valid mathematic model is introduced to study the calculation of gear meshing transmission error, which is based on the manufacturing error and gear teeth deformation. Subsequently, take a pair of specific gear for example; The transmission error curves are obtained by the calculation model.

Encoder error analysis in gear transmission error measurement
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1998This paper investigates encoder measurement error and introduces a method of reducing or cancelling the encoder error from gear transmission error signals. The time domain and frequency domain analysis of the combined encoder error signals has been carried out to show the validity of the method. This method could be useful where the error of lower cost

On the Unequal Error Protection for Progressive Image Transmission
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2007In this paper, we consider the unequal error protection (UEP) for progressive image transmission when the coded packet size is fixed. First, we prove that, for the source code with convex rate-distortion (R-D) function and practically used channel codes, the channel code rate for each packet in the optimal rate allocation is nondecreasing indeed. Then,

A Novel Unequal Error Protection Approach for Error Resilient Video Transmission
2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005We address the problem of unequal error protection (UEP) for MPEG-2/H.263 video over a wireless packet-erasure channel. Unequal amounts of protection are allocated to the different frames of a group-of-pictures (GOP) to provide a graceful degradation of video quality as packet loss rate varies.

A Note on PCM Transmission Error
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1970PCM system transmission error causes error in the subsequent reconstruction of a quantized analog signal. A concise proof is given for bounds on this error (either mean square or mean absolute value). This proof requires no assumptions regarding source distribution or number of quantization levels.

Detection and correction of transmission errors in facsimile images
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1996Today, facsimile is recognized as the primary communication tool for both printed and written materials. Most facsimile machines operating on public switched telephone networks use the Group 3 (G3) facsimile compression standards, in which images are entropy-coded.

Error probability in optical fiber transmission systems
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1979A method for evaluating the average error probability in digital fiber optic transmission systems is described. It takes into account the statistical properties of the main impairments that affect the information signal, i.e., shot noise (dark current included), thermal noise, and intersymbol interference.

Error Resilient Video Transmission
2001Multi-frame MCP improves the rate-distortion efficiency of video codecs in the case of error-free transmission of the bit-stream. In this chapter, the efficiency of long-term memory MCP for a transmission scenario where the bit-stream may be received in error is investigated. The most important applications today including wireless packet networks show
