Measurement of Bit Errors in Data Transmission Systems

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1976
This correspondence presents an improved technique for receive error detecting a pseudorandom digital sequence suitable for bit error performance testing of serial digital transmission systems. The method is applicable to separately located transmit and receive sites, is self-synchronizing, and can be economically constructed using logic elements and ...

Errors in Data Transmission Systems

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1961
The aims and methods of a program of work being conducted at the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in data-transmission research are discussed. The work, which has been concentrated primarily on telephone circuits of a type generally available, is aimed at a better understanding of these transmission media.

Intelligence and transmission errors in the brain

Kybernetes, 1996
Suggests that the probability of transmission errors in the central neural system (CNS) is a major factor determining intelligence. That is, the smaller this probability, the larger is the intelligence of the subject. Explains the observation that Hendrickson’s AEP measures, which are supposed to measure this probability, are sometimes correlated ...

Detecting CD error or transmission error of photomask patterns

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
Whereas critical-dimension (CD) error below 35 nm and transmission error below 3.6 % are required for 256M DRAM, a present-day cutting-edge inspection system may fail to detect 150 nm CD error or 6 % transmission error. Improvement of defect inspection is, therefore, necessary to raise yields of semiconductor devices.

Error Performance for Adaptive Transmission on Fading Channels

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1974
A communication system is analyzed in which the transmission power and/or rate are adjusted to the observed state (attenuation) of a slowly fading channel. The optimum control of power and rate with channel attenuation is determined. Some suboptimum control rules are also investigated.

Determining the Bit Error Rate for Redundant Transmission

2016
In this article a bit error rate for redundant transmission is determined. The method is based on the error rate of received bitstream for different levels of redundancy and does not require any information about transmission channel and original data. The main goal was to derive a simple closed form expression that leads to good performance and makes ...

Error Transmission in Mixture Experiments

2004
In this paper we propose explicit models of mean and variance of a mixture performance characteristic for the case when the mixture amounts are set with errors in the production process. They are based on Taylor expansion up to third order terms of a mixture model expressed through the component amounts.

Error Resilience Techniques for Wireless Video Transmission

2009 Second International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Design, 2009
With the explosive growth of the Internet and dramatic increase in wireless access, there is a tremendous demand on multimedia delivery over wireless networks. Error technology in video coding and video transmission over wireless network has been widely studied.
