Design and Analysis of Electric Power-assisted Variable Transmission Ratio Steering System for Sweeper

open access: yes, 2020
Aiming at the current application of electric power steering in medium-sized sweepers, in order to solve the problem of oversized motors and difficult applications, a new design scheme of variable transmission ratio transmission is proposed.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Optimization of Two-speed Transmission Ratio in Common Working Condition of Electric Vehicle based on PSO

open access: yes, 2019
Aiming at the deficiency of optimizing the speed ratio of multi-gear transmission of electric vehicle only under a single specific working condition, which is much different from the actual working condition, a speed ratio optimization method based on ...

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Tuberculosis Transmission by Patients with Smear- Negative Pulmonary Tuberculosis in a Large Cohort in The Netherlands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Background. Sputum smear microscopy is commonly used for diagnosing tuberculosis (TB). Although patients with sputum smear-negative TB are less infectious than patients with smear-positive TB, they also contribute to TB transmission.

Life-history responses, transmission dynamics and epidemiology in a terrestrial gastropod infected with parasitic mites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Parasites are known to influence the life-history of their hosts. A parasite-induced reduction in host fecundity and survival may lead to a reduced rate of increase in the host population.

Effectiveness of rTMS on Working Memory and Inhibitory Impairments in Patients With Post‐Stroke Executive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...
