Interpretation of reflection and transmission spectra for thin films: transmission

Applied Optics, 1995
The optical behavior of a thin film, that is, peak positions and intensities, is discussed for transmission under a thin-film approximation. The infrared transmission spectra of thin films, both standing films and those on dielectric substrates, are simulated for s and p polarization at various angles of incidence.

Transmission spectra of artificial opals

Inorganic Materials, 2009
Transmission spectra of globular photon crystals with various globule diameters filled with ethyl alcohol and free of any filler are studied. It is found that, with the increase in the globule diameter, the spectral position of the stop band is displaced into the long-wave area of the spectrum.

Submillimeter transmission spectra of Sr2Ca2Cu4Oy

International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1991
Abstract Transmission spectra of Sr 2 Ca 2 Cu 4 O y which is a part of high T c superconducting system Bi 2 Sr 2 Ca n−1 Cu n O z , and their temperature evolutions were investigated by monochromatic quasioptical submillimeter spectroscopy. Strong increase of high frequency conductivity in the range 80 to 350K was revealed.

Correcting Infrared Spectra for Atmospheric Transmission

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 2007
Astronomical spectra taken with ground-based telescopes in the near-IR spectral region are affected by strong absorptions due to molecules in the Earth's atmosphere, particularly CO2 and H2O. These features need to be removed in order to reveal the true spectrum of the object being observed.

Material analysis using characteristic transmission spectra

2008 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2008
Conventional X-ray radiography evaluates the attenuation of X-rays to provide information about the examined object. In this approach it remains difficult to distinguish whether the object features are induced by the object geometry or by the material composition.
