Optical Properties of ZnTe Thin Films Prepared By Chemical Spray Pyrolysis [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2008
Thin films of ZnTe have been prepared by the method of chemical spray pyrolysis. The absorption and transmissions spectra are recorded in the range 400-900nm.Thespectral dependences of absorption coefficient were calculated from transmissionspectra.

Variations in Infrared Complex Refractive Index Spectra of Surface Soils from Global Dust Entrainment Regions

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2023
We explored spectral diversity in infrared (IR, 4–25 μm) imaginary (k) and real (n) indices of refraction (optical constants) for 26 surface soils that originated from global dust entrainment regions.

Transmission spectra of sausage-like microresonators

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
We experimentally develop a sausage-like microresonator (SLM) by making two microtapers on a single-mode fiber, and study whispering-gallery modes (WGMs) in SLMs with different lengths. The transmission spectra from 1530 nm to 1550 nm of several SLMs are presented and SLMs with different lengths are shown to have different transmission features.

Improved Huygens’ Principle for Metamaterial

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
In this paper, we propose a new method based on Huygens’ principle for calculations of transmission spectra with weak coupling and we call this method an improved Huygens’ principle.

On Degeneracies in Retrievals of Exoplanetary Transmission Spectra

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2019
Abstract Accurate estimations of atmospheric properties of exoplanets from transmission spectra require the understanding of degeneracies between model parameters and observations that can resolve them. We conduct a systematic investigation of such degeneracies using a combination of detailed atmospheric retrievals and a range of model ...

Optical Properties of the Fresnoite Ba2TiSi2O8 Single Crystal

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
In this work, using large-sized single crystals of high optical quality, the optical properties of Ba2TiSi2O8 were systematically investigated, including transmission spectra, refractive indices and nonlinear absorption properties. The crystal exhibits a

Influence of Plasma Treatment on Physical Properties of Thin SnO2 Films Obtained from SnCl4 Solutions with Additions of NH4F and NH4OH

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 2019
This paper considers the effect of oxygen and hydrogen plasma on SnO2 films synthesized from solutions of tin tetrachloride containing NH4F and NH4OH additives. It was found that the treatment of samples with oxygen plasma for 5 min led to a decrease in

The Featureless Transmission Spectra of Two Super-puff Planets [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2020
Abstract The Kepler mission revealed a class of planets known as “super-puffs,” with masses only a few times larger than Earth’s but radii larger than Neptune, giving them very low mean densities. All three of the known planets orbiting the young solar-type star Kepler 51 are super-puffs.

Aurora: A Generalized Retrieval Framework for Exoplanetary Transmission Spectra [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2021
Abstract Atmospheric retrievals of exoplanetary transmission spectra provide important constraints on various properties, such as chemical abundances, cloud/haze properties, and characteristic temperatures, at the day–night atmospheric terminator.
