Exploring Exoplanet Cloud Assumptions in JWST Transmission Spectra [PDF]
Abstract Clouds are ubiquitous in extrasolar planet atmospheres and are critical to our understanding of planetary climate and chemistry. They also represent one of the greater challenges to overcome when trying to interpret transit transmission spectra of exoplanet atmospheres as their presence can inhibit precise constraints on ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Huygens description of resonance phenomena in subwavelength hole arrays
We develop a point-scattering approach to the plane-wave optical transmission of subwavelength metal hole arrays. We present a real space description instead of the more conventional reciprocal space description; this naturally produces interfering ...

Superfluorescence spectra of excitons in quantum wells
We study the fluorescence light emitted from GaAs excitons in semiconductor quantum wells. The excitons are modeled as interacting bosons. By combining quantum optical methods for the excitonic emission spectrum with many particle descriptions of the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Isotropic photonic band gap and anisotropic structures in transmission spectra of two-dimensional 5-fold and 8-fold symmetric quasiperiodic photonic crystals [PDF]
We measured and calculated transmission spectra of two-dimensional quasiperiodic photonic crystals (PCs) based on a 5-fold (Penrose) or 8-fold (octagonal) symmetric quasiperiodic pattern.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

SYNTHESIS AND INVESTIGATION OF THIN TiO2 FILMS, DOPED WITH COPPER NANOPARTICLES
Thin films of titanium dioxide, doped with copper nanoparticles, were synthesized by the method of deposition on the rotating substrate. The obtained films were dried at room temperature and at temperature of TiO2 calcination and studied by ellipsometry,
