Antioxidant activity and sun screening effects of Bacterial melanin

open access: yesJournal of BioScience and Biotechnology, 2020
The present work was delineated to formulate and evaluate antioxidant and photoprotective properties of melanin produced by Pseudomonas mosseliistrain STSGRDS1 against the purchased fungal melanin STSGRDM1 as standard. Initially,

Silicon Sheets By Redox Assisted Chemical Exfoliation

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we report the direct chemical synthesis of silicon sheets in gram-scale quantities by chemical exfoliation of pre-processed calcium di-silicide (CaSi2).

IETS and quantum interference: propensity rules in the presence of an interference feature

open access: yes, 2014
Destructive quantum interference in single molecule electronics is an intriguing phe- nomenon; however, distinguishing quantum interference effects from generically low transmission is not trivial.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

In situ high-temperature Mössbauer spectroscopic study of carbon nanotube-Fe-Al2O3 nanocomposite powder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The oxidation of a carbon nanotube–Fe–Al2O3 nanocomposite powder was investigated using notably thermogravimetric analysis, room temperature transmission and emission Mössbauer spectroscopy and, for the first time, in situ high-temperature transmission ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

High-resolution Transmission Spectroscopy of Ultrahot Jupiter WASP–33b with NEID

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
We report an attempt to detect molecular and atomic species in the atmosphere of the ultrahot Jupiter WASP-33b using the high-resolution echelle spectrograph NEID with a wavelength coverage of 380–930 nm.

Structural and gas-sensing properties of CuO–CuxFe3−xO4 nanostructured thin films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Nanocrystalline CuO–CuxFe3−xO4 thin films were developed using a radio-frequency sputtering method followed by a thermal oxidation process. Thin films were deposited applying two very different conditions by varying the argon pressure and the target-to ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Femtosecond Pump-Probe Studies of Reduced Graphene Oxide Thin Films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The dynamics of photocarriers in reduced graphene oxide thin films is studied by using ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy. Time dependent differential transmissions are measured with sample temperatures ranging from 9 to 300 K.
