Radiation Characteristics Enhancement of Dielectric Resonator Antenna Using Solid/Discrete Dielectric Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2015
The radiation characteristics of the dielectric resonator antennas (DRA) is enhanced using different types of solid and discrete dielectric lenses. One of these approaches is by loading the DRA with planar superstrate, spherical lens, or by discrete lens

A tiled dual-polarized transmitarray with 1-bit quantization

open access: yes, 2020
An original approach of a transmitarray which consists of the tiled unit cells placed in a plastic holder is considered. Each unit cell represents a passive receiver-transmitter structure with integrated phase-shifter, which can take either of two coding

Detection of low-contrast objects with a focusing transmitarray [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE International Conference on Microwaves, Antennas, Communications and Electronic Systems (COMCAS), 2017
A Focusing Transmitarray is a quasi-periodic planar lens that is able to focus the energy of a feed at a spot in the Near Field of the lens. In this work, this kind of lens has been used for detection under low contrast conditions. The use of this lens allows non-contact measurements, therefore increasing the sensitivity of a detection system.

1-bit reconfigurable transmitarray with low loss and wide bandwidth

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
We present a novel X-band 1-bit reconfigurable transmitarray with excellent polarization conversion. The basic element consists of two layers of metal patterns connected by a metal through-hole and feed structures.

The Shape Synthesis of Transmitarray Antenna Elements

open access: yes, 2020
Shape synthesis (also called topological synthesis or inverse design in other disciplines) has the potential to provide antenna engineers with a useful addition to their design tools. Transmitarray antennas, which consist of a feed antenna plus a printed

One-Dimensional Beam Scanning Transmitarray Lens Antenna Fed by Microstrip Linear Array

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper proposed a one-dimensional beam scanning transmitarray lens antenna fed by a microstrip linear array antenna which owns a wide pattern in the plane orthogonal to the array axis and a narrow pattern in the plane that includes the array axis ...

Geometric Phase Metasurface for Lens Antenna System With High Polarisation Purity and Efficiency

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This work presents a millimetre‐wave antenna–metalens system based on the Pancharatnam–Berry phase principle, operating efficiently from 82 to 95 GHz. The system achieves high directivity (up to 34.7 dB), excellent polarisation purity (AR < 2 dB) and aperture efficiency exceeding 30%. The same metalens is also characterised at 75 and 105 GHz, where the

Millimetre-Wave Multi-Beam Shaped Transmitarray with A Wide Beam Coverage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
A millimeter-wave (mm-wave) shaped transmitarray for wide-angle multi-beam radiations is proposed at 70.5 GHz in this paper. The transmitting surface shows a three-dimensional (3-D) elliptical cylindrical configuration.

Wideband Single‐Layer Reflectarray Antenna for Millimeter‐Wave 5G Communications

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The rapid evolution of intelligent applications has driven the demand for high‐performance antenna systems. Reflectarrays (RAs), also referred to as planar reflectors, have emerged as a promising solution for modern wireless and satellite communication systems due to their beam‐steering capability and high‐gain characteristics.
