Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...

Spectral Energy of High-Speed Over-Expanded Nozzle Flows at Different Pressure Ratios
This paper addresses the long-standing question of understanding the origin and evolution of low-frequency unsteadiness interactions associated with shock waves impinging on a turbulent boundary layer in transonic flow (Mach: 1.1 to 1.3).

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Manifold Learning for Aerodynamic Shape Design Optimization
The significant computational cost incurred due to the iterative nature of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in traditional aerodynamic shape design frameworks poses a major challenge, especially in the context of modern integrated design requirements ...

For compressible flows, the transonic state depends on the geometry, Mach number and the incidence. This effect can produce shock wave. Some studies showed that the interaction between shock wave and boundary layer concerns separation phenomenon. Studies

Numerical Study of the Lift Enhancement Mechanism of Circulation Control in Transonic Flow
The lift of an aircraft can be effectively enhanced by circulation control (CC) technology at subsonic speeds, but the efficiency at transonic speeds is greatly decreased. The underlying mechanism of this phenomenon is not fully understood. In this study,

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Receptivity and Stability Theory Analysis of a Transonic Swept Wing Experiment
Surface suction provides an efficient way to delay boundary layer transitions. In order to verify the suction effects and determine the mechanism of suction control in transonic swept wing boundary layers, wind tunnel transition measurements in a hybrid ...

Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...
