Competing-risk outcomes after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation from the perspective of time-dependent effects

open access: yesHaematologica, 2018
The success of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is determined by multiple factors. Additional complexity is conferred by covariables showing time-dependent effects.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Bone Marrow Transplantation for Fanconi Anemia Using Fludarabine-Based Conditioning

open access: yes, 2011
In the mid-1990s, we introduced a fludarabine (Flu)-based conditioning regimen for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in patients with Fanconi anemia (FA).The aim of this study is to compare Flu-based conditioning to alternative regimens in ...

Functional immune reconstitution after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in myeloablative and non-myeloablative conditioned patients

open access: yesScientific Reports
Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCT) is a treatment modality for several hematological and immune-driven diseases. A conditioning regimen precedes transplantation.

Experiences of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation following non-myeloablative conditioning regimen in severely comorbid patients with myelofibrosis: case series with a patient presenting with extensive extramedullary hematopoiesis

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Hematology, 2020
We have performed allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) using a reduced intensity conditioning regimen for curative management of advanced myelofibrosis (MF).

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Effect of acute and chronic GVHD on relapse and survival after reduced-intensity conditioning allogeneic transplantation for myeloma

open access: yes, 2012
We evaluated the effect of acute and chronic GVHD on relapse and survival after allogeneic hematopoietic SCT (HSCT) for multiple myeloma using non-myeloablative conditioning (NMA) and reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC).

Improved Outcomes of Haploidentical Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation with Total Body Irradiation-Based Myeloablative Conditioning in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yes, 2021
The optimal myeloablative conditioning (MAC) for patients undergoing haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation (haplo-HCT) is unknown. We studied the outcomes of total body irradiation (TBI)-based versus chemotherapy (CT)-based MAC regimens in ...
