Unmanipulated HLA 2–3 Antigen-Mismatched (Haploidentical) Stem Cell Transplantation Using Nonmyeloablative Conditioning

open access: yes, 2006
The major problems in human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-mismatched stem cell transplantation (SCT) are graft failure and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).

Prevalence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Australia, 2010–2022: A Population‐Based Study Using Linked National Administrative Health Data

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogenous inflammatory condition with widely varying global prevalence estimates. The frequency of SLE in the general population of Australia has been reported to be notably lower than contemporary estimates in countries such as the United States or United Kingdom, at 19 to 39 per 100,000 as opposed ...

Clinical Significance of Therapeutic Drug Level Monitoring for Mycophenolate in Patients With Extrarenal Systemic Lupus Erythematosus—A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Clinical response to mycophenolic acid (MPA) is highly heterogeneous; thus, therapeutic drug level monitoring (TDM) may help improve treatment efficacy. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined therapeutic ranges for MPA levels associated with better outcomes and safety in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE ...

An overview of conditioning regimens for haploidentical stem cell transplantation with post-transplantation cyclophosphamide

open access: yes, 2015
Haploidentical related donors are an attractive alternative source of stem cells for allogeneic stem cell transplantation due to widespread availability and ease of stem cell procurement.

Conditioned consent in organ transplantation

open access: yes, 1995
The attitude of 184 family groups toward death and organ donation in encephalic death is analized. Seventy-seven per cent donations done between 1992 and 1995 had family condinioted consent. The family preferred to provide only the kidneys in order to avoid necropsy and keep the corpe's integrity.

Post-transplantation Cyclophosphamide and Sirolimus after Haploidentical Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Using a Treosulfan-based Myeloablative Conditioning and Peripheral Blood Stem Cells

open access: yes, 2015
Haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) performed using bone marrow (BM) grafts and post-transplantation cyclophosphamide (PTCy) has gained much interest for the excellent toxicity profile after both reduced-intensity and ...

Race and Household Income Are Associated With Disease Outcomes in Pediatric Patients With Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody–Associated Vasculitis Hospitalized in the United States

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Race and household income impact outcomes in patients with rheumatic conditions; however, their role in pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) remains poorly understood. We aimed to evaluate whether race and ethnicity and household income are associated with severe AAV disease and renal outcomes among

Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Impact of Conditioning Regimen Intensity on Outcome of Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation for Advanced Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and Myelodysplastic Syndrome

open access: yes, 2006
We reviewed 136 patients with advanced acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) undergoing allogeneic transplantation to assess the impact of conditioning regimen intensity on outcome.
