Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Demand responsive transit scheduling method considering passenger travel choice

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban
Demand responsive transit service faces the challenge of maintaining operating profits while complying with passenger preferences. To address this, a multinomial logit model was established to describe passenger travel choice behaviors, and a service ...

'Resilience thinking' in transport planning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Resilience has been discussed in ecology for over forty years. While some aspects of resilience have received attention in transport planning, there is no unified definition of resilience in transportation. To define resilience in transportation, I trace

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Evaluation Method for Nighttime Visual Space Improvement on Mountain Roads

open access: yesZhongwai Gonglu
To address issues such as poor visual guidance, narrow field of view, and short sight distance during nighttime driving on mountain roads, this study proposed a visual space enhancement evaluation method applicable to mountainous roads at night.

Gap bootstrap methods for massive data sets with an application to transportation engineering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we describe two bootstrap methods for massive data sets. Naive applications of common resampling methodology are often impractical for massive data sets due to computational burden and due to complex patterns of inhomogeneity.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
