A Knowledge‐Based Approach for Understanding and Managing Additive Manufacturing Data

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing processes generate a large amount of data. Effectively managing, understanding, and retrieving information from this data remains a major challenge. Therefore, we propose an ontology‐based approach to integrate heterogeneous data, enable semantic queries, and support decision‐making.

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Temperature‐Modulated Threshold Response in a Volatile Memristor: Toward a Biomimetic Polymodal Nociceptive System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an artificial polymodal nociceptor whose firing threshold is actively modulated by temperature. A volatile TiN/TiOx/ZnO/TiOx/ITO memristor shows interfacial ion–driven resistive switching and membrane‐potential‐like dynamics, enabling temperature‐dependent nociceptive behavior.

Transversal Competences for the Labor Market

open access: yes
ABSTRACT: In the last two decades, the competence-based learning system has spread in Europe, aiming to develop young people's skills to help them perform in a knowledge-based economy (Chapman and Aspin 2013). This system ensures labor force mobility and transparency in the European space and at an intersectorial level.

Implementing Transversal Competences in Higher Education

open access: yes, 2020
[EN] Transversal competences are considered to be the general understanding of learning how to apply the information that has been acquired to solve problems of different nature in different environments with regards to the related area of study. With transversal competences, an individual can integrate knowledge and be able to deal with the complexity
