Thwarts in transversal designs

Designs, Codes and Cryptography, 1995
A subset of points in a transversal design is a thwart if each block in the design has one of a small number of intersection sizes with the subset. While the details are too complicated to state here, the authors study thwarts (subconfigurations) of transversal deisgns via the use of a version of Wilson's theorem.

Halving transversal designs

Journal of Combinatorial Designs, 2000
Let \(G_1,G_2,\dots, G_r\) (called groups) be a partition \(G\) of a set of points \(V\), and \(B^*\) be a collection of subsets (called blocks) of \(V\). A triple \((V,G,B^*)\) is called a group-divisible design (GDD) if \(|G_i\cap B|\leq 1\) for all \(G_i\in G\) and \(B\in B^*\) and for any two points \(x\), \(y\) from distinct groups there is only ...

Transverse holographic optical interconnect design

Applied Optics, 1994
The design of A new type of planar optical interconnect, the transverse holographic waveguide, is described. With this type of interconnect a one-dimensional input light distribution is converted into a one-dimensional output light distribution by holographic patterning along the direction of the optical wave propagation.

Design of a novel transversal filter

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2004
AbstractA novel transversal filter using triple‐coupled‐line directional couplers and its design method are proposed. The performance of the proposed filter is verified by full‐wave analysis and measurement. The measured result is compared with the simulated one and good agreement is achieved. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

On Transverse Vibration of a Composite Flywheel with Optimum Design

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1995
The transverse vibration of a variable composite flywheel is investigated using the Rayleigh-Ritz approach.

The design of transverse filters and their use in visual electrograms

Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, 1987
The subject under study is a digital filtering method which combines the advantages of both theoretical precision and great flexibility of use. This method has enabled us to develop transverse filters which respect the principle of causality and offer a fast and simple solution in the filtering of electrophysiological potentials.

Transversal designs associated with frobenius groups

Journal of Geometry, 1981
To any Frobenius group G (of degree s, with Frobenius complement of order k) we associate an (s,k) -transversal design Δ(G) which admits G as a point-regular collineation group. Δ(G) is in fact also a dual translation net and furthermore admits a flag-regular collineation group. Also, Δ(G) has two orthogonal resolutions.

Transversal dielectric resonator filter design

Proceedings of 8th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference on Industrial Applications in Power Systems, Computer Science and Telecommunications (MELECON 96), 2002
This article describes a transversal dielectric resonator (D.R.) filter and the procedure which can be applied to design this device starting from the synthesis of conventional filter. An example of a three poles transversal structure is presented. The result is compare to a rigorous analyse using the three dimensional finite element method.

On Transversal Designs

1975
A design is a pair (X,B) where X is a finite set of points and B is a family of not necessarily distinct- subsets Bi (called blocks) of X.
