Children's Green Infrastructure: Children and Their Rights to Nature and the City

open access: yesFrontiers in Sociology, 2022
The development of green spaces in cities has corresponded to a need to deal with a series of socio-environmental and health problems felt in urban spaces.

Partial geometric designs: Constructions and classifications

open access: yes, 2022
We study partial geometric designs in detail and investigate their connection with ordinary $t$-designs, partial geometries, transversal designs, partial geometric difference sets and families, directed strongly regular graphs, and other tactical ...

Transversal designs and induced decompositions of graphs [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorics, 2016
We prove that for every complete multipartite graph $F$ there exist very dense graphs $G_n$ on $n$ vertices, namely with as many as ${n\choose 2}-cn$ edges for all $n$, for some constant $c=c(F)$, such that $G_n$ can be decomposed into edge-disjoint induced subgraphs isomorphic to~$F$.

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Ductility Analysis of RC Beams Considering the Concrete Confinement Effect Produced by the Shear Reinforcement: a Numerical Approach

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
In this paper, a simplified numerical approach to study the influence of the confinement effect provided by transversal reinforcement on the ductility behavior of RC beams in bending is proposed.

Test-retest reliability of multi-parametric maps (MPM) of brain microstructure

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2022
Multiparameter mapping (MPM) is a quantitative MRI protocol that is promising for studying microstructural brain changes in vivo with high specificity.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Multilayer transverse gradient coil design [PDF]

open access: yesConcepts in Magnetic Resonance Part B: Magnetic Resonance Engineering, 2003
AbstractIn small, cylindrical gradient coils consisting of a single layer of wires, the limiting factor in achieving large magnetic field gradients is the rapid increase in coil resistance with efficiency. This behavior results from the decrease in the maximum usable wire diameter as the number of turns is increased.

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Longitudinal and Transversal Driver Behaviour with Innovative Horizontal Markings Along Curved Motorway On Ramps and Terminals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The manuscript presents a driving simulation study on the effectiveness of two innovative horizontal marking designs (in comparison with the conventional marking) along acceleration ramps and reverse and continue terminals on curved motorway sections ...
