Axial compression behavior of square concrete columns reinforced with longitudinal and transverse GFRP bars

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This research assesses the performance of square concrete columns that have been reinforced with transverse reinforcement and longitudinal bars made of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) under axial compression. Seven columns were subjected to testing,

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Experimental and theoretical research of strength of compressed reinforced concrete elements with Transverse reinforcement of welded meshes

open access: yesБудівельні конструкції. Теорія і практика
Transverse reinforcement with welded meshes is used in areas of significant compressive forces, usually in local places, where it is necessary to increase the strength of concrete in axial compression.

Research on the Estimation Model of Energy Consumption Capacity for Reinforced Concrete Components with Axial Force

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2023
The research group utilized the estimation model of energy consumption capacity for reinforced concrete components without axial force to assess the energy consumption capacity of 92-reinforced concrete components from the PEER database, which were ...

Features of the Internal Force Factors Distribution in Reinforced Concrete Piles of Complex Cross Section under the Influence of a Transverse Load

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Bar reinforced concrete structures, which include piles, in real working conditions perceive a whole range of internal force factors. Axial tension-compression forces, bending moments and shear forces are the most commonly perceived internal force ...

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

SECTIONAL CURVATURE DUCTILTY OF REINFORECD CONCRETE COLUMNS UNDER LARGE INELASTIC DEFORMATION

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
A mathematical model is developed to express stress-strain relationship of normal-strength concrete confined by transverse reinforcement. The sectional ductility analysis on rectangular reinforced concrete columns is performed under axial load ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
