PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Anthropogenic impacts to the recovery of the Mexican gray wolf with a focus on trapping‐related incidents

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, 2013
Concerns regarding the potential negative impacts of regulated furbearer trapping to reintroduced Mexican gray wolves (Canis lupus baileyi), led to an executive order prohibiting trapping in the New Mexico, USA, portion of the Blue Range Wolf Recovery ...

Mapping of QTLs associated with abscisic acid and water stress in wheat

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2015
A segregating F4 population from the cross between drought sensitive (Yecora Rojo) and drought tolerant (Pavon 76) genotypes was made to identify molecular markers linked to a wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) abscisic acid (ABA) content at two water regimes.

Trapping with biased diffusion species

open access: yes, 1999
We analyze a trapping reaction with a single penetrable trap, in a one dimensional lattice, where both species (particles and trap) are mobile and have a drift velocity.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Bose-Einstein Condensation in a Surface Micro Trap

open access: yes, 2001
Bose-Einstein condensation has been achieved in a magnetic surface micro trap with 4x10^5 87Rb atoms. The strongly anisotropic trapping potential is generated by a microstructure which consists of microfabricated linear copper conductors at a width ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Productivity of trap catches in different fishing ground at Lhok Kuala Daya, Aceh Jaya

open access: yesDepik Jurnal
Trap fishing gear offers several advantages, including high selectivity, the ability to keep fish alive, and support for sustainable fisheries. The productivity of catches around coral reefs and fish aggregating devices (FADs) is important to study in ...

Observation of nitrogen vacancy photoluminescence from an optically levitated nanodiamond

open access: yes, 2013
We present the first evidence of nitrogen vacancy (NV) photoluminescence from a nanodiamond suspended in a free-space optical dipole trap at atmospheric pressure. The photoluminescence rates are shown to decrease with increasing trap laser power, but are
