Trapped surface formation for the Einstein-scalar system
We consider the formation of trapped surfaces in the evolution of the Einstein-scalar field system without symmetries. To this end, we follow An's strategy to analyse the formation of trapped surfaces in vacuum and for the Einstein-Maxwell system. Accordingly, we set up a characteristic initial value problem (CIVP) for the Einstein-Scalar system with ...

This paper describes the formation of protonated molecules ([M + H]+) and adduct ions by self-ion-molecule reactions (SIMR) during collisionally activated decomposition (CAD) of methyne addition ions ([M + CH]+) produced from chemical ionization (CI) or ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

One of the main obstacles for successful economic development is the formation of institutional traps, inefficient yet stable norms of behaviour. Domination of barter exchange, arrears, corruption and black market activities are examples of institutional

This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Deposition, diagenesis, and reservoir development of the Cretaceous Lidam formation, SE Sirt Basin, Libya. [PDF]
This study concentrates on the deposition, diagenesis and reservoir characteristics of the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian) Lidam Formation. Core, petrography and geochemical data were studied from five wells (P3-97, N6-97, R1-97, 3V1-59E, and 3V3-59E) in ...

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Theoretical Studies of dilute Bose-Einstein condensates in a double-well potential [PDF]
In this Thesis we apply the Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE) to describe properties of a dilute, near zero temperature Bose gas for various confining geometries.

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the
