We presentthe results oftesting10pheromonedispensersused to lure the sprucebark beetle-Ipstypographus(Linnaeus, 1758). A comparisonwas made between boththeir efficacyand also the decrease intheir efficacyafterapplication.

We provide a Keynesian growth theory in which pessimistic expectations can lead to very persistent, or even permanent, slumps characterized by high unemployment and weak growth. We refer to these episodes as stagnation traps, because they consist in the joint occurrence of a liquidity and a growth trap.

Use of Snares to Live-Capture Beavers
Wildlife managers, researchers, and nuisance-control operators often require a nonlethal means of capturing beavers (Castor canadensis). Historically, live-capture has relied on enclosure-type traps such as Bailey or Hancock traps.

Capturing self-propelled particles in a moving microwedge
Catching fish with a fishing net is typically done either by dragging a fishing net through quiescent water or by placing a stationary basket trap into a stream. We transfer these general concepts to micron-sized self-motile particles moving in a solvent

A versatile electrostatic trap [PDF]
A four electrode electrostatic trap geometry is demonstrated that can be used to combine a dipole, quadrupole and hexapole field. A cold packet of 15ND3 molecules is confined in both a purely quadrupolar and hexapolar trapping field and additionally, a ...

Proton belt variations traced back to Fengyun-1C satellite observations
We used historical data to trace trapped protons observed by the Fengyun-1C (FY-1C) satellite at low Earth orbits (~800 km) and chose data at 5–10 MeV, 10–40 MeV, 40–100 MeV, and ~100–300 MeV from 25 March to 18 April 2000 to analyze the proton ...

Adult population fluctuation of Comadia redtenbacheri (Hammerschmidt, 1847) (Lepidoptera: Cossidae)
Comadia redtenbacheri (Hammerschmidt, 1847) is an insect highly regarded for its commercial and nutritional value. Adult fluctuation in a plantation of Agave salmiana Otto ex Salm-Dyck was determined using ultraviolet light traps.

Nonlinear Self-Trapping of Matter Waves in Periodic Potentials
We report the first experimental observation of nonlinear self-trapping of Bose-condensed 87Rb atoms in a one dimensional waveguide with a superimposed deep periodic potential .

We develop a Lagrangian approach based on the influence functional method so as to derive self-consistently the Langevin equation for the inflaton field in the presence of trapping points along the inflaton trajectory.

Self-trapping of Bose-Einstein condensates in optical lattices
The self-trapping phenomenon of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in optical lattices is studied extensively by numerically solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation.
