Mesoscale Recovery of Microglial and Neuronal Dynamics After Craniotomy Across Wide Cortex in Transgenic Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs longitudinal fluorescence imaging in transgenic mice to map post‐craniotomy cortical recovery. We identify distinct neuroimmune recovery phases: microglial structural inflammation peaks at ∼10 days, neuronal structural intensity peaks at ∼14 days and correlates with microglial activity, and functional network modularity is most ...

Involvement of leukotriene pathway in the pathogenesis of ischemia-reperfusion injury and septic and non-septic shock. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) pathway is responsible for the production of leukotrienes (LTs), inflammatory lipid mediators which play a role in innate immunity. More recently, a pivotal role of LTs in ischemia-reperfusion and shock injury has been suggested.

DNA Nanoflower LYTACs Enable Efficient VEGF Degradation and Verteporfin Loading for Combined Therapy of Wet Age‐Related Macular Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated approach that combines a DNA nanoflower VEGF degrader with photodynamic therapy is developed for the treatment of wet age‐related macular degeneration, which reduces the risk of VEGF reactivation‐induced CNV recurrence and minimizes the systemic side effects associated with photodynamic therapy.

Traumatic renal artery occlusion producing hypertension

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1981
Summary Traumatic renal artery occlusion is relatively rare. Prior to 1974 there were only 38 cases reported in the literature (1). The true incidence, however, is greater and the diagnosis is frequently missed at the time of the original injury. Less than 50 per cent of cases will develop hypertension.
