Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Risk prediction model for overall survival in lung cancer based on inflammatory and nutritional markers

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aims to develop a multidimensional risk prediction model, identify characteristic inflammation-nutrition biomarkers, and optimize clinical decision-making.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Development of a nurse-led mHealth intervention framework for patients with chronic diseases: A systematic review and Delphi study

open access: yesDigital Health
Objective mHealth is increasingly becoming popular and useful for managing chronic diseases. Nurse-led mHealth services offer a patient-centred perspective, but many existing solutions lack a robust empirical foundation.

Does acute-phase acupuncture at Hegu (LI04) promote facial nerve regeneration and upregulation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway? A hypothesis-generating study in a rabbit crush injury model

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology
This study used the rabbit facial nerve crush injury model to investigate the time-dependent effects of acupuncture at Hegu (LI04) on facial nerve regeneration and regulatory role of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt ...

Comparazion of dual nucleoside-analogue reverse-transcriptase inhibitor regimens with and without nelfinavir in children with HIV-1 who have not previously been treated: the PENTA 5 randomised trial.

open access: yes, 2002
INTRODUCTION: Treatment options for children with HIV-1 are limited. We aimed to compare activity and safety of three dual-nucleoside analogue reverse-transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) regimens with or without a protease inhibitor in previously untreated ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
