Latent Tree Language Model [PDF]
In this paper we introduce Latent Tree Language Model (LTLM), a novel approach to language modeling that encodes syntax and semantics of a given sentence as a tree of word roles. The learning phase iteratively updates the trees by moving nodes according to Gibbs sampling. We introduce two algorithms to infer a tree for a given sentence.

Machine Learning for Green Solvents: Assessment, Selection and Substitution
Environmental regulations have intensified demand for green solvents, but discovery is limited by Solvent Selection Guides (SSGs) that quantify solvent sustainability. Training a machine learning model on GlaxoSmithKline SSG, a database of sustainability metrics for 10,189 solvents, GreenSolventDB is developed. Integrated with Hansen solubility metrics,

Varieties of Unranked Tree Languages
We study varieties that contain unranked tree languages over all alphabets. Trees are labeled with symbols from two alphabets, an unranked operator alphabet and an alphabet used for leaves only. Syntactic algebras of unranked tree languages are defined similarly as for ranked tree languages, and an unranked tree language is shown to be recognizable iff

Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances

A unifying approach for multistack pushdown automata [PDF]
We give a general approach to show the closure under complement and decide the emptiness for many classes of multistack visibly pushdown automata (Mvpa). A central notion in our approach is the visibly path-tree, i.e., a stack tree with the encoding of a

An Integrated NLP‐ML Framework for Property Prediction and Design of Steels
This study presents a data‐driven framework that uses language‐processing techniques to interpret steel processing descriptions and machine‐learning models to predict mechanical properties. By organising complex process histories into meaningful groups and enabling rapid property forecasts, the work supports faster, more informed steel design through ...

An intensional implementation technique for functional languages [PDF]
The potential of functional programming languages has not been widely accepted yet. The reason lies in the difficulties associated with their implementation.

Construction of a Pushdown Automaton Accepting a Postfix Notation of a Tree Language Given by a Regular Tree Expression [PDF]
Regular tree expressions are a formalism for describing regular tree languages, which can be accepted by a finite tree automaton as a standard model of computation.

Inferring language dispersal patterns with velocity field estimation
Reconstructing the spatial evolution of languages can deepen our understanding of the demic diffusion and cultural spread. However, the phylogeographic approach that is frequently used to infer language dispersal patterns has limitations, primarily ...
