Trema micrantha Blume na alimentação de poedeiras comerciais () [PDF]

open access: yesActa Amazonica, 1980
A trial was carried out to observe the effect of inclusion of Trema micrantha dried at levels of 0.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, and 8.0% in hens diets. Although no statistical diference were observed between the treatments, the diet with 4% of dried trema did not change hens performance.

Ficus insipida subsp. insipida (Moraceae) reveals the role of ecology in the phylogeography of widespread Neotropical rain forest tree species. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biogeogr, 2014
Aim: To examine the phylogeography of Ficus insipida subsp. insipida in order to investigate patterns of spatial genetic structure across the Neotropics and within Amazonia. Location: Neotropics.

Forest structure drives changes in light heterogeneity during tropical secondary forest succession. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Ecol, 2021
Secondary forest succession is driven by changes in forest structure and light environment, but few studies have quantified both factors. During succession in a Mexican tropical rainforest, light in the understory became more homogeneously distributed, whereas vertical light heterogeneity increased.

Pneumotoxicosis in Sheep Caused by Ingestion of Trema Micrantha [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Pathology, 2013
Trema micrantha, a fast-growing tree distributed throughout the Americas, produces palatable leaves that have been associated with hepatic necrosis and acute death when consumed by livestock. This report describes fatal pulmonary disease of sheep triggered by consumption of Trema micrantha.

Morphological diversity of glandular trichomes in Urticalean Rosids

open access: yesActa Botânica Brasílica, 2022
Glandular trichomes are epidermal structures that produce, store and release a variety of chemical compounds. Their high morphological diversity allows their taxonomic use at various levels. Therefore, their description and standardization of terminology

Pest categorisation of Maconellicoccus hirsutus

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 20, Issue 1, January 2022., 2022
Abstract The EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Maconellicoccus hirsutus (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae), the pink hibiscus mealybug, for the EU. M. hirsutus is native to Southern Asia and has established in many countries in tropical and subtropical regions throughout the world.

Effects of shading and removal of plant parts on growth of Trema micrantha seedlings. [PDF]

open access: yesTree Physiology, 2001
Effects of artificial shading and removal of plant parts on growth of Trema micrantha (L.) Blume (Ulmaceae) seedlings were studied. Seedlings were grown in pots in a greenhouse in 45, 30, 10.6, 4.8 and 1.8% of full sunlight. Shading for 60 days had no effect on survival, but it influenced all growth parameters measured.

Can variation in seed removal patterns of Neotropical pioneer tree species be explained by local ant community composition?

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 53, Issue 2, Page 619-631, March 2021., 2021
We combined observations of seed removal by ants with a characterization of the above‐ and below ground ant communities at five sites on Barro Colorado Island, Panama, to determine if seed removal patterns were associated with local ant community structure.
