Atrophy and other potential factors affecting long term deep brain stimulation response: a case series. [PDF]
To describe three DBS cases which presented with new side effects or loss of benefit from stimulation after long-term follow-up and to discuss the potential contributing factors.A University of Florida (UF) database (INFORM) search was performed ...

Volcanic tremor is often observed to be associated with an increase in volcanic activity and during periods approaching eruptions. It is therefore of crucial importance to study this phenomenon.

Although seismic amplitudes can be used to estimate event locations for volcanic tremors and other seismic events with unclear phase arrival times, the precision of such estimates is strongly affected by site amplification factors.

AbstractEpisodic tremor and slip (ETS) in subduction zones is generally interpreted as the manifestation of shear slip near the base of earthquake‐generating portion of the plate interface. Here we devise a new method of cross‐correlating stacked Array of Arrays seismic data that provides greatly improved tremor locations, a proxy for the underlying ...

LRRK2‐mutant induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) were derived from a patient with Parkinson's disease (PD). Using CRISPR/Cas9–mediated gene editing, the pathogenic LRRK2 mutations were precisely corrected, and isogenic dopaminergic neural progenitor cells (DA‐NPCs) were subsequently generated.

Preprint: Tremor migration patterns and the collective behavior of deep asperities mediated by creep
Slow-slip events (SSE) and non-volcanic tremors have revealed a broad spectrum of earthquake behavior, involving entangled seismic and aseismic slip, and offer a unique window into fault mechanics at the bottom of seismogenic zones. A hierarchy of migration patterns of tremors has been observed in the Cascadia subduction zone, including large-scale ...

Herein we report a boron‐based pyrazole, (Borsantrazole ‐ a small molecule that selectively targets oxidative stress) that significantly increases survival, reduces weight loss, delays disease onset, and affects global protein changes in the SOD1‐G37R mouse model of ALS.
