Sunflowers and Testing Triangle-Freeness of Functions [PDF]

open access: yescomputational complexity, 2015
A function $f: \mathbb{F}_2^n \rightarrow \{0,1\}$ is triangle-free if there are no $x_1,x_2,x_3 \in \mathbb{F}_2^n$ satisfying $x_1+x_2+x_3=0$ and $f(x_1)=f(x_2)=f(x_3)=1$. In testing triangle-freeness, the goal is to distinguish with high probability triangle-free functions from those that are $\varepsilon$-far from being triangle-free.

Triangle-based consistencies for cost function networks [PDF]

open access: yesConstraints, 2016
Cost Function Networks (aka Weighted CSP) allow to model a variety of problems, such as optimization of deterministic and stochastic graphical models including Markov random Fields and Bayesian Networks. Solving cost function networks is thus an important problem for deterministic and probabilistic reasoning.

Note on the Schwarz triangle functions [PDF]

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 1954
1. Introduction. In his classical investigation of the hypergeometric series, Schwarz discussed the function which maps the upper half w -plane onto a curvilinear triangle in the z-plane with angles 8π, βπ, ηπ(δ+ e + η < 1). The inverse, w = φ(z), of this function is automorphic with respect to the group got by reflecting the triangle in its sides ...

Note on the Schwarz triangle functions [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2005
We shown the rationality of the Taylor coefficients of the inverse of the Schwarz triangle functions for a triangle group about any vertex of the fundamental domain.

Tricuspid regurgitation, right ventricular function, and renal congestion: a cardiorenal triangle

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2023
There is a growing interest in the evaluation of tricuspid regurgitation due to its increasing prevalence and detrimental impact on clinical outcomes. Historically, it has been coined the “forgotten” defect in the field of valvular heart disease due to ...

Completion of probabilistic normed spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1995
We prove that every probabilistic normed space, either according to the original definition given by Šerstnev, or according to the recent one introduced by Alsina, Schweizer and Sklar, has a completion.

Symmetric triangle quadrature rules for arbitrary functions

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 2020
Despite extensive research on symmetric polynomial quadrature rules for triangles, as well as approaches to their calculation, few studies have focused on non-polynomial functions, particularly on their integration using symmetric triangle rules. In this paper, we present two approaches to computing symmetric triangle rules for singular integrands by ...

Reverses of the triangle inequality in Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Recent reverses for the discrete generalised triangle inequality and its continuous version for vector-valued integrals in Banach spaces are surveyed. New results are also obtained.

Lupaş type Bernstein operators on triangles based on quantum analogue

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2021
The purpose of the paper is to introduce new analogues of Lupaş type Bernstein operators Bm,quf(u,v) and Bn,qvf(u,v), their products Pmn,qf(u,v) and Qnm,qf(u,v) and their Boolean sums Smn,qf(u,v) and Tnm,qf(u,v)on triangle Th, which interpolate a given ...

Automatic determination of the triangle and ramp voltage linearity error

open access: yesVojnotehnički Glasnik, 1997
Triangle and ramp voltage linearity are important characteristics of function and sweep generators. In performance test for these instruments linearity error for triangle and ramp signals is established.
