Tribological characteristics of aloe mucilage

Tribology - Materials, Surfaces & Interfaces, 2008
AbstractIncreased concerns about environmental damage caused by many lubricants, has created a growing worldwide trend of promoting new environmentally friendly lubricants. The tribological characteristics of aloe mucilage as a kind of original biolubricant have been investigated in the present work. The experimental results indicate that the variation

Tribological Characteristics of Nanocrystalline Copper

Journal of Metastable and Nanocrystalline Materials, 2005
In the present study, two sets of powder metallurgy copper samples, with grain sizes of 99 nm and 63 nm, respectively, were investigated under different tribological conditions. The wear behavior of these materials was studied through a pin-on-disc configuration using sliding velocities of 0.5, 1 and 2 m/s with normal loads of 10 and 30 N.

Tribological characteristics of MoSi2/SiC nanocomposites

Nanostructured Materials, 1995
The tribological behavior of surfaces depends on a number of factors including hardness, elasticity, fracture toughness, adhesion and oxidation rate. Many of these are determined unambiguously by the composition and microstructure. The ultimate way to modify the microstructure is a refinement of the grain size down to the nanometric scale. This results

Tribological Characteristics Modification of Magnetorheological Fluid

Journal of Tribology, 2011
Recently, research on the application of magnetorheological (MR) fluid in mechanical engineering has been widely expanded, while the performance of MR fluid in tribology has also been investigated. In this study, a modification of MR fluid, which is modified by adding certain additives, is attempted to improve tribological performance.

TRIBOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MONOMOLECULAR ORGANIC FILMS

Physics, Chemistry and Applications of Nanostructures, 2011
Tribological characteristics of monoand multimolecular films formed by surface-active compounds such as triacontanoic acid (TA), behenic acid (BA), polyvinylpyridine (PVP) formed on silicon surface by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique were studied.

Tribological Characteristics of Dual-Pressure Tube Hydroforming

Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2022
Dual-pressure tube hydroforming (THF) is a tube hydroforming process variant whereby deformation of the tubular specimen is achieved by exerting fluid pressure on both the inside and outside surfaces of the tube. Dual-pressure THF experiments are conducted to study tribological conditions when producing pear-shaped and triangular parts.

Tribological characteristics of hip joint endoprostheses

Journal of Friction and Wear, 2016
We have studied the friction pairs for a head–insert kinematic node of human hip endoprostheses and rabbit hip endoprostheses, both normal (intact) and with an osteoarthritis model, in conditions of dry friction and lubrication with biological medium.

Studies on tribological characteristics of alkylalkoxysilanes

Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, 1999
Different percentages of calcium and lithium stearate greases were prepared using dimethyldi‐2‐ethyl‐1‐hexoxysilane and dimethyldi‐1‐dodecoxysilane as base oils by open kettle process and then were characterised. The performance of different greases has been studied by determining their apparent viscosity, consistency, dropping point, oxidation ...

Microhardness and tribological characteristics of coatings

Russian Engineering Research, 2017
The hardness and frictional coefficients of two-layer coatings are investigated. The coating life of steel samples is investigated on the basis of its elastoplastic deformation and the microhardness before and after testing on a frictional machine. The two-layer Mo2N + Mo coating considerably outperforms the steel in terms of microhardness. The life is
