Diagnostic Value of Neurofilament Light Chain and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein in Differentiating Primary From Serious Secondary Headache

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 7, July 2026.
In patients presenting to the emergency department with acute non‐traumatic headache, serum GFAP and neurofilament light chain were higher in serious secondary headache than in primary headache.
