Second‐trimester triglyceride‐glucose index to predict adverse outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus: A retrospective multicenter cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation
Aims/Introduction Women with gestational diabetes mellitus are at high risk for adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. The study aimed to evaluate the performance of the triglyceride‐glucose index in predicting the risk of developing adverse outcomes in

Triglyceride-glucose index and the incidence of stroke: A meta-analysis of cohort studies

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2023
BackgroundInsulin resistance (IR) is involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. As a new indicator, the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index has greater operability for the evaluation of insulin resistance.

A Functionally Conserved Enhancer is Critical for PGC1A Expression and Thermogenesis in Brown Fat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An evolutionarily conserved enhancer controls PGC1A expression and thermogenic activation in brown adipose tissue. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify two BAT‐specific enhancers, with PGC1A‐En1 functioning as the dominant regulatory element that maintains thermogenic capacity across species.

Leveraging Macrophage Metabolic Reprogramming for Enhanced Anti‐Tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) are key regulators of the tumor microenvironment (TME), with their metabolic states playing a critical role in tumor progression or regression. This review summarizes current understanding of TAM metabolic plasticity alongside cutting‐edge bioengineering innovations, outlining a roadmap for transforming the ...

Cars2‐Mediated Cysteine Catabolism Drives Brown Fat Development and Thermogenesis Through Persulfidating EBF2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.

Association between triglyceride glucose-body mass index and all-cause mortality in patients with sepsis: Evidence from a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research
Background Sepsis remains a leading cause of mortality in critically ill patients, necessitating the identification of reliable prognostic markers. The triglyceride glucose-body mass index, which combines lipid and glucose metabolism, may serve as a ...
